Kompong Luong The floating village of Kompong Luong is located on the Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia, it is a floating village inhabited by nearly a thousand families, especially of the Cham ethnic group, and Vietnamese families, who emigrated years ago due to the war with the United States. The village built on old boats, covers all the needs of the population, there are mechanics, warehouses, police, neighborhood, party halls, gas station, schools, church, pagoda, sawmill even a bar with pool tables. Despite living in the middle of a lake, in the village you can find dogs, cats, chickens, crocodile farms and pigs. The life that takes in the lake, is simple and calm, the people that inhabit it are very humble people who live in small boats wooden houses, the town is in constant change, it moves depending on the depth of the water, the houses rotate of place, they move, whether they are driven by another boat or moved by relatives with a few long sticks. Health is not something that characterizes this town, the inhabitants are carefree when it comes to cleaning, their way of recycling is throwing waste like cans, plastic, paper into the water. In the town there is no waste collection boat, which creates large amounts of garbage accumulated in different sectors of the lake. The food in Kampong Luong was based mainly on fish and rice, mostly families are engaged in fishing, the tasks are divided among all. The product is sold in local markets close to the coast.
