This is what remained of the Bolivian in headquarters at Fort Arce, in the Chaco, after it was bombed and captured by Paraguayan troops last Oct. and shown Nov. 23, 1932. In front of the ruined Comandancia is a group of Paraguayan officers. Fort Arce was a Bolivian stronghold, and its fall accompanied that of several other forts. Thousands have been reported killed and wounded although war has not been officially declared. (AP Photo)
