A man adjusts the thermostat of a gas-fired radiator during the World Savings Day in Naples, Southern Italy on October 31, 2022. Before the formation of the new Italian government, the MiTe (Ministry of Ecological Transition) had published on its website the decree on heating which also decides when the radiators can be turned on in Italy. Former minister Roberto Cingolani had also decided on limits on use as provided for in the Plan for the reduction of natural gas consumption. The decree provides for fifteen days less for ignition and the reduction of one degree of temperature and one hour a day for heating this winter. The temperature in the houses, which is set at 20 degrees by convention, will have to drop to 19.
