PHOTO: EAST NEWS KRATERY WIDOCZNE NA POWIERZCHNI ASTEROIDU EROS. ZDJECIE ZROBIONE Z PROMU KOSMICZNEGO RANDEZVOUS This image taken 12 July, 2000 by imaging equipment on board the Near Earth Asteroid Renezvous spacecraft and released by NASA 26 July shows the surface of the Eros asteroid. The image reveals an abundance of large, smoothed craters and very few small craters. The relative lack of the smaller craters suggests that a resurfacing of this part of the asteroid has buried or removed the small craters. The image was taken from an altitude of 29 miles(46km).
