Passers by wondered what was going on as Sandy, a trained seal, stepped up to the Egyptian Theater box office on Hollywood Boulevard on August 4, 1948 in Los Angeles and barked for a ticket. Sandy, an enterprising movie studio press agent pointed out, wanted to attend the preview of his first picture.
