Palestine police officials questions three Arabs who were captured in Mahmilah cemetery, Jerusalem, May 15, 1947. The Arabs said that they found a parachute flare as they were passing the cemetery, and it exploded when they picked it up. No one was injured. When challenged, they ran, and British troops opened fire before they were eventually captured for questioning. Two of them were afterwards released, but the man holding the basket was held for further questioning. (AP Photo/Jim Pringle)
