Manager Casey Stengel, left, of the Boston Bees, is, no doubt, chatting about the fine cool weather were having this summer with Bick Campbell, National League Umpire, July 5, 1940, Boston, Mass. The incident occurred in the tenth inning of a game between the Bees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Campbell had just order Dolf Camilli of the Dodgers to bat a second time after the arbiter had failed to see Gene Moore catch Camillis fly to right field. Stengel protested Campbells decision and as indicated by the umpires left thumb left the game still protesting. The Dodgers finally won in the 20th inning, 6-2. (AP Photo)
