The new insecticide developed by the U.S. department of Agriculture is highly instrumental in keeping animals comfortable by freeing them of such annoyances as flys, ticks, and lice. Dot powders do not harm the goats of animals and are harmful to them only if ingested or assorbed into the body. Until now, this insecticide has been used primarily to protect our forces against insects that spread malaria, thyphods, and other diseases. However, with the falling off of military demands it is becoming more available for civilian uses. Photo shows Enthomologist J. A Morris spraying one ot the heard at the. Beltsville Research Center with suspension of water dispersible Dot powder using a power sprayer for the purpose. Dot has solved the fly problem, on Aug. 28, 1945.(AP Photo)
