Computer illustration of a Gallimimus dinosaur. This omnivorous dinosaur lived between 75 and 70 million years ago, in the late Cretaceous period. It was bipedal and could probably run as fast as an ostrich. It stood about 2 metres high at the hip. Fossils of Gallimimus, which means 'chicken mimic', have been recovered from the Gobi desert in Mongolia.
