A class C8 solar flare erupts from the chromosphere as prominences appear along the limb. When viewed in the hydrogen-alpha wavelength, a flare appears brighter than the cooler spicules flowing around the sun's disk. Equipment Data: Solar Spectrum .2 angstrom hydrogen-alpha filter; Astro-Physics AP155 EDT telescope at 3000mm focal length. Lumenera Infinity 2-1 video camera. 150 individual frames captured.
