The International Space Station enters the Earth's Shadow over the erupting Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii. The Space Station's trail dims toward the lower right because that is where it is entering the shadow before it disappears from view. The long exposure shows this as a gradual fading of light. The Space Station appears just to the left of the Southern Cross and the Cross's Pointer Stars, Alpha and Beta Centauri are also aligned with the Space Station's trail. The fuzzy star at the top of the frame is the great globular star cluster Omega Centauri.
