Sharing knowledge art and ritual. 11,000 Patax?u00f3 people currently live inside their protected land in different communities. Porto do Boi consists of a small family community who created a Cultural Centre to be open for visitors since 2004. In 2013 their main structure fell down due to the lack of income to maintain the structure. Since then the community had to find other ways of sustaining themselves moving to cities in search of jobs. As a consequence, the Cultural Centre of Porto Do Boi had to close their doors. The current leader Tige Maturemba Baixu is now gathering help to rebuild the Culture Centre and revive the Patax?u00f3 Culture with the help of visitors and volunteers. The relationship the Patax?u00f3 people have maintained with nature and their surroundings led to the development of an acute spiritual consciousness... Celebrating the moon, the sun and many other entities through various rituals and prayers, the lifestyle of the Patax?u00f3 tribe is still oriented today in close connection and relation with the transcendental bond their ancestors have developed with their natural environment.
