A space probe Hayabusa 2 succeeded in landing the asteroid "Ryugu" to collect its sample material. The Hayabusa2 is an asteroid sample-return mission operated by the Japanese space agency JAXA. Hayabusa2 was launched on December 3, 2014 and rendezvoused with near-Earth asteroid 162173 Ryugu on June 27, 2018.
