Kensington Palace (kensingtonroyal / 20.02.2019): The @RoyalMarines the UKs elite amphibious fighting force personify courage, selflessness and positivity in the face of any challenge. Today The Duke of Sussex, Captain General Royal Marines, presented recruits with their coveted Green Berets, symbolically marking the completion of their commando training, after receiving the salute from recruits completing their final Commando Test, a 30-mile march which starts at the north end of Dartmoor and finishes near Plymouth. Among the Royal Marines supporters The Duke met was Knocker, who joined up in 1945, and has supported recruits and commandos since 1969. The Duke also visited 42 Commando at their base in Bickleigh to meet Royal Marines serving with the unit, meeting its specialist teams and witnessing a Joint Personnel Recovery demonstration in which Royal Marines disembarked from a Merlin helicopter and simulated the rescue of an F35 pilot from the new HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier."
