The European Court of Justice (ECJ) on October 6, 2015 is to announce a verdict in the case of Schrems v Data Protection Commissioner of Ireland over Schrems's claims that his privacy data was allegedly violated Facebook within the scope of NSA mass surveillance programs. Austrian activist Schrems is suing for damages against the US firm on behalf of 25,000 Facebook users, arguing that Facebook collects and uses private data without adequate consent from users.
