A shop owner arranges his products most of which are used for skin lightening in the Fordsburg suburb of Johannesburg on July 3, 2018. - Africa is experiencing a massive trend of skin bleaching, also called lightening or whitening, particularly in teenagers and young adults. Lots of products produced in South Africa are renamed to not include words such as "Fair" or "Whitening" because "the African market is sensitive" while the very same products all over the world retain these names. For example the product "Fair and Lovely" produced by Unilever is called "Tone and Lovely" in South Africa. A patron in the store mentions that all the products being sold there has under the legal limit of Hydroquinone and Mercury and is safe. South Africa has banned skin bleaching products with high amounts of hydroquinine and mercury, urging people to "reject all colonial notions of beauty". (Photo by GULSHAN KHAN / AFP)
