Pro-Syrian government forces cordon off members of Jaish al-Islam fighters and their families who were evacuated from their former rebel bastion of Douma after arriving at the Syrian government-held side of the Wafideen checkpoint on the outskirts of Damascus, on April 9, 2018. The evacuations came after accusations Syria's government had used toxic gas on Douma, which the regime denied. Calls grew for an international response to an alleged chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held Syrian town, with the United States warning that it was not excluding military action. / AFP PHOTO / STRINGER
