Feb.13, 2016 - Cadiz, Spain - The Cadiz carnival is underway. Carnival has a long tradition in the city of Cadiz. The celebrations last 2 weeks each year in February. It is immensely popular among the city's residents, and even attracts visitors from all over Spain. Cadiz's carnival is famous for its "Coros", "Chirigotas" and "Comparsas", the choirs of local people who perform on streets and squares during carnival. Their repertoire of songs is varied and often has a witty satirical take on the years' political events and news, or humorous innuendo. Some also have more serious undertones, and this year a theme of many songs was the refugee crisis.
