When it comes to Christmas, Nat and Doug embrace the festive season with gusto, turning their pretty cottage into a sparkling winter wonderland.? ?The first time this creative couple viewed the property in 2011, it was extremely dated and crying out for a stylish transformation.? Unfazed, they snapped up the property, located in the heart of rural West Sussex, and relished the challenge of removing the orange lino floors, old green carpets and orange pine, to breathe new life into their acquisition.? Over time and on a budget, Nat, a digital marketing manager, and sales manager Doug, have put their own stylish stamp on every inch of this home.? Downstairs, they've removed walls and fitted a new kitchen to create an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. On the first floor, a new bathroom has been fitted, complete with a striking freestanding bath that was painted several times to get just the right shade.? In the master bedroom, old floorboards, salvaged from a warehouse that was being demolished, have been laid. A smart new en suite has also been fitted.? ?Nat's passion for interiors, sourcing antiques and finding beautiful, quirky pieces, plus Doug's DIY skills, have combined to create a delightful, relaxed cottage that's bursting with personality and charm. At this time of year, when Nat lights the candles on the Christmas tree, plus dozens of twinkling tea-lights, every room takes on a truly magical appearance, as the couple prepare to welcome friends and family at their much-loved home.
