Pictured: An elephant seal looks as though it was practising its best yoga moves when a photographer spotted it on an icy bank. David Merron, 40, came across the young adult male seal when he was leading a group of tourists on a tour of the Gerlache Strait, close to the Antarctic Peninsula. Mr Merron and his group stopped to watch the seal, a rare sight in the area, on a trip while looking to take photos of penguins, whales and icebergs. He said that it is rare to see elephant seals so close to the water on an icy bank, as they are normally lying on beaches. SEE OUR COPY FOR MORE DETAILS. Please byline: David Merron/Solent News ?
