Veronique Barthe, 49, Saint-Emilion wine-maker, divorced mother of three and living in Gironde, southwestern France, poses with her voting card next to her wineries in Peyrefus Daignac, near Bordeaux, southwestern France, on February 24, 2017. What should be the priorities of the next French president? "I would like our next president to enjoy wine, defend recognised French products and work with Europe to put in place trade agreements with countries like Japan and China that would boost our business. A lot of work is being done in rural areas to understand the impact of our craft on the environment. Responsible winegrowers like us should be encouraged and receive help. Here are some suggestions: increase the number of vineyards that obtain environmental, organic and bio-dynamic certification; develop techniques to improve soil quality; invest in innovative equipment; boost research on developing hardier grape varieties." / AFP PHOTO / GEORGES GOBET / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - RESTRICTED TO FRENCH ELECTIONS ILLUSTRATION PURPOSE
