Paul Fizin, 34, teacher of history, geography and civic education in the French overseas territory of New Caledonia, Single, no children, poses with his voting card on March 10, 2017 outside his workplace in Noumea. What should be the priorities of the next French president? "I want the president to be the guarantor of the 1998 Noumea Agreement, which allowed for the progressive decolonisation of New Caledonia. I want him to find an original status if the 'No' vote wins in the three self-determination referendums scheduled between 2018 and 2022. Together we must build a country that guarantees a good level of education, social security coverage and solidarity, based on what we have achieved over the last 30 years in New Caledonia. I am also worried about the marginalisation of part of the kanak (indigenous inhabitants) youth, so I also expect the president, and more widely the French state, to find innovative solutions that have originated from the Pacific countries." / AFP PHOTO / Fred Payet / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - RESTRICTED TO FRENCH ELECTIONS ILLUSTRATION PURPOSE
