Hundreds of women activists dressed in pink and purple, and carrying banners and posters marched while doing the action Women's March as part of the commemoration of International Women's Day 2017 on March 8th, starting at Thamrin street and ended up in front of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. In this action, they raised the issue of gender equality which is considered still not been fully realized. For that reason, they presented eight demands to the government, which includes the elimination of violence against women, protecting female workers, protecting their neighborhoods, improving the representation of women in the political scene, and eliminating discrimination and violence against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities.
