Mandatory Credit: Photo by Beretta/Sims/REX Shutterstock (4515494d) Catherine Duchess of Cambridge visits Turner Contemporary Catherine Duchess of Cambridge visits Margate, Kent, Britain - 11 Mar 2015 The Duchess will visit the 'Self: Image and Identity' exhibition which includes the last self-portrait by Sir Anthony Van Dyck, recently acquired for the nation by the National Portrait Gallery through a public appeal with The Art Fund. Her Royal Highness will tour the gallery and meet artists whose works are in the exhibition. The Duchess will see how Turner Contemporary engages with the local community in the Clore Learning Studio, where she will meet local school children involved in an art project and meet a group of young women who have been working with local artist Felicity Allen. HRH will then attend a brief reception and meet staff and supporters of the gallery. Finally The Duchess will see the exhibition 'Mr Lion 14' by Blank Canvas, Turner Contemporary's inter-generational community group. HRH will meet members of the locally based group who meet weekly to work together and share ideas and experiences.
