Mud volcanoes in the semi desert of Gobustan, south of Baku. A natural gas bubble covered in mud breaks through the surface and desintegrates. Mud volcanoes are a product of the same geological system responsible for Azerbaijan's rich oil and gas fields and van be used as clues by explorers seeking additional reserves.
