The owners kept the existing kitchen and painted it French Gray. The French farm dining table was found at the Battersea Antiques Fair whilst the Windsor chairs were made by Christopher Howe. A large scale map of the immediate area on the wall is a useful reference for walking and exploring. Built in 1850 as a two-up two-down it had been extended at both ends by a previous owner providing a sitting room and a play room TV area opening onto the garden with the kitchen and dining room in-between. An enfilade view through three rooms was a bonus. Although the cottage was in good condition the new owners wanted to put a definite individual stamp on the place and create a sophisticated garden where there was just lawn and a few shrubs. *** TEXT AVAILABLE ***
