Hugh's clients, amongst others, are the rich and famous, aristocrats, entrepreneurs and rock stars. Even the children of some of his clients have begun commissioning him which is evidence of the esteem in which his services are held. In his own place, Hugh lives much more modestly than his clients as ' i just wants calm and order when i get home in the evening'. His own apartment in London's Earls Court is a haven of calm off-white walls and muted colours in his furniture, fabrics and art works. Hugh strives for simplicity at home as ' i spend my days agonising over details and objects for other people and i do not want to do that in my own 4 walls '.
