Antennae Galaxies. Hubble Space Telescope image of the Antennae Galaxies NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, a pair of colliding spiral galaxies. They are found in the constellation of Corvus at a distance of about 60 million light years and have been merging together for the past 800 million years. The bright (white) areas seen here are associated with regions of stellar formation which was triggered by the collision between the two galaxies. *THIS IMAGE MAY NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES SUCH AS ADVERTISING, OR IN SUCH A WAY AS TO IMPLY ENDORSEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE.*
