Professor Geim is the Langworthy Professor and director of the Manchester Centre for Mesoscience and Nanotechnology at the University of Manchester. Professor Geim is holding a mug with frogs on it because he did an experiment where levitated a frog. Professor Geim is Russian-born but now holds Dutch citizenship.
