??BAUER-GRIFFIN.COM Golden Globe winner Adele has called on Elton John to help battle her crippling stage fright before she performs at the Oscars next month. The British superstar spent an afternoon with Elton at his Beverly Hills home. Adele took her son Angelo James, who enjoyed a meet and greet with the legend's son Zachary and new son. who was born around a month ago. Generous Elton, 65, talked with Adele about her deep seated issues over a return to the limelight next month. Adele bagged best movie theme at the prestigious Globes on Sunday for Skyfall at the Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton Hotel. However she now has her sights set on returning to the stage almost a year after her last appearance. Adele will sing Skyfall live at the Oscars at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on February 24. Other performers including Hugh Jackman will also sing at the event watched by an estimated 600m worldwide. Nervy Adele plans to spend the next three weeks battling her crippling stage fright, which has dogged her in recent months. The British superstar, 24, is battling constant nerves before shows and major work events. This issue along with her pregnancy has stopped the Londoner from performing at other events around the world. The Grammy winning singer - who recently gave birth to her first child with partner Simon Konecki - admitted her Globes trip was a jolly. But the hard work starts now. She plans to spend time between London and California working at her recording studio to help overcome her crippling stage fright and perfect her live version of Skyfall. Adele is also battling long term issues with her voice after having polyps removed late last year. A Los Angeles source said: ??sAdele was overawed by the reaction and love from the fans and stars at the Golden Globes. She has built up a huge confidence issue in recent months about doing red carpet events but this was very different; to have won the award was a huge step in her getting her career back in track ??sBut Adele wanted to see Elton to talk about her fears of actually singing live again. Elton has been like a godfather to her in recent months, helping her settle into life as a superstar and the challenges of being a new parent. "Elton has been hoping to get together for a while, so this LA trip was perfect. Adele also met his new son in the kids' first play date, which will be one of many in the future. "Adele came away feeling very confident and proud of what she could do. "Her focus is now working on perfecting Skyfall at the Oscars. There will be a full scale orchestra and she wants to sing live. ??sAdele is desperate to overcome her nerves about coming back. It has been a year since she last played live so this will be a tough gig. Elton has offered to sit in with her and offer her counseling. ??sIn between all that she is starting to work on some new material for an album which if it goes well could be out as early as December.??? At the Globes Adele revealed how she was nervous about recording the Bond theme. ""I got the script a long time ago and it took quite a while to convince me to do the actual song, because its quite a big responsibility doing a Bond film - McCartney's done it... and I was worried that I would let everyone down by doing it. Simon talked me into it and I am glad he did." In recent weeks Adele, 23, has been Skyping Elton for advice about raising a child in the limelight. Adele admitted she found being back in the limelight tough. "I don't know... all these characters here from film and TV. It's very weird coming in and seeing all these people." Last month Adele admitted : ??s"I'm scared of audiences. It has gotten worse as I have become more successful, because there is a bit more pressure and people are expecting a lot more from me. "My fear is that I am not going to deliver and people aren't ping to enjoy it, and that I will ruin their love for my songs by doing them live." She continued: "It starts from the minute I wake up. If I know I have got a show, I try to potter around and keep myself busy. I get panicky and sick and have thrown up a few times. "It just comes out." Doctors have warned the Tottenham based singer that her throat is still sensitive to over work, and lumps could grow back. Adele confirmed: "It doesn't mean it won't happen again. If I decided to go on a 200 date tour it will happen again, through exhaustion." Adele also is not on a crazy diet since giving birth in October. But she added: "I read a comment on YouTube that I thought would upset me 'Test pilot for pies' - but I've always been a size 14-16 and been fine with it." "I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't." Karl Lagerfeld has previously criticized her size, saying that despite having a great voice she is a "little too fat".
