ADV. VANESSA GERA- BC-POLSKA THREATENED GHETTO BUILDING
The headquarters of Warsaw's Jewish community, known as the "white building" shows signs of aging as its stands near Warsaw's only surviving prewar synagogue, the Nozyk synagogue, and a new skyscraper in Warsaw, Poland, Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. The building, one of the few surviving remnants of the infamous Warsaw Ghetto, could be torn down to make way for a taller modern building, a plan that has angered advocates of historic preservation and sparked a battle to save the structure. The Jewish community defends the plan, saying it needs to build a larger and newer building on the spot to accommodate a growing community.(AP Photo/Czarek Sokolowski)
