Robin Gibb Battles Ill Health To Promote Charity Single
Robin Gibb has shocked fans after appearing on a British chat show looking frail and emaciated.
The 61-year-old Bee Gee's struggle with ill health was clear as he appeared on the Alan Titchmarsh Show.
In the past two years the singer has been hospitalised twice - the latest incident just 12 days ago - after collapsing with severe abdominal pains.
In August last year he underwent life-saving surgery for a blocked intestine - the same condition that led to the death of his twin Maurice in 2003.
It was revealed afterwards that if he had not received prompt treatment he could have died.
His latest hospital stay saw the teetotal, vegan star treated for six days for inflammation of the colon.
His ill health forced him to pull out of various work appearances, including a BBC Songs of Praise concert and a meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron.
He is currently promoting a Poppy Appeal charity single with The Soldiers, which is a new version of the Bee Gees hit 'I've Gotta Get A Message To You'.
