This image provided by NASA shows Hurricane Maria off the coast of Newfoundland Canada Friday morning at 5:45 a.m. EDT. Maria's maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph. The storm is centered about 495 miles (800 kilometers) southwest of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and is moving northeast near 45 mph (72 kph).
