A VERY YAWNY TAWNY OWL! This exhausted avian was spotted taking a rest in its cosy bird box in the early morning hours. These images were taken at the Maiden Earley Lakes, Reading by Aerospace Engineer, Neil Brailsford. He said, “I was surprised to spot this owl as it is coming into their breeding season and as rather shy birds, they are only usually seen in woodlands while hunting or more enclosed areas.” “I watched as the owl woke up, spotted me, let out a big yawn and headed straight back to sleep in the exact same position. Yes Tawny owl , it’s coming into their breeding season and are quite a shy breed of owl normally only seen hunting in woodlands Can you describe what is happening in these images? I saw this owl asleep in its nesting box , set up my camera and took a few shots as it woke , yawned then went back to sleep in the same place How were you able to capture these images? Using my Canon R7 camera body and 500mm canon prime lens I was able to get up close even tho I was 20-25m away Is there any more information you would like us to include?
