Audi driver ends up on stranded on busy ski slope after GPS wrong turn
An Audi driver ended up stranded on a busy ski slope after taking a GPS wrong turn.
The motorist put a note on the windscreen and left the car on the slope overnight.
He then took advantage of the mishap to go skiing the next morning.
The police came across the abandoned Audi.
Officers found a note on the window explaining that the owner took a wrong turn while following Siri and ended up stuck on the ski slope.
The police said: “Not our everyday illegal parking call.”
It was found at the bottom of the Schoolmarm ski run at Keystone Resort near Denver, Colorado, US on Monday (6 Jan).
Following the mishap, the owner explained that he was making his way to the resort’s employee housing facilities on Sunday night when he took the wrong turn.
He said: “I’m the ‘Jerry of the Day’ I guess.
“I was following Siri and she told me to take this summer road.
“And here I am.”
He added: “It was last night, I was trying to access that second apartment so I was going up that open gate.”
Workers tried to dig a path for the driver to move his Audi off the slope, but without any luck.
They had to stop and cordon off the area when the ski slope opened for the day.
A tow truck was called to the scene at around midday and the Audi was removed from the slope.
The police said the driver did not receive a citation as his car wasn’t abandoned on a main road, as reported by What's The Jam.
One local said: “Of course it’s an Audi.”
Sheridan asked: “What in the Apple Maps is this foolishness?”
Angela said: “I’ve made some wrong turns before, but driving up a ski run has to take the...”
