Holocaust survivor Francine Christophe poses at her home in Le Chesnay on the outskirts of Paris on December 4, 2024. Francine Christophe was born on August 18, 1933 in Paris. She was arrested with her mother while trying to cross the demarcation line on July 26, 1942 in Rochefoucauld (Charente). After several stays in different camps in France: Poitiers, Drancy, Beaune-la-Rolande, she was sent on May 2, 1944 to the German camp of Bergen-Belsen. She was liberated on April 23, 1945 by the Soviet army in Trobitz (Germany) while she was on an evacuation train.Francine has two children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
