Keeping the cubs safe from the cold.
CANADA HEART-WARMING images have been captured showing a polar bear family huddled together in the freezing temperatures.
Pictures show the polar bear mum pulling her cubs in close for a feed and then snuggling down for a nice nap in a warm and cosy huddle.
Polar bears give birth to one to three blind cubs covered in downy fur, weighing around two pounds each.
The mum will nurse them, living off her fat reserves, until it is time to leave the den, which happens when her little ones are capable of trekking with her.
The cubs generally leave their mothers and fend for themselves when they are two-and-a-half years old.
These adorable images were captured in Manitoba, Canada, by Taylor Thomas Albright (40) a wildlife photographer from Fairbanks, USA.
“While taking these pictures I was standing on the snow and frozen ground, 360 feet away from the family, at a safe distance to make sure I did not disrupt them,” he told mediadrumworld.com.
“I was thrilled to have captured this moment.
“It’s pretty rare to capture a polar bear with more than two cubs.
“I was fascinated by their relationship, she is their everything, the only thing they know and trust.
“It was beautiful.”
