‘I’m the real life Freddy Krueger – people mistake me for him in the street’
A body modification fanatic dubbed the “most modified man in the world” has revealed that he’s often mistaken for the real life Freddy Krueger due to this look.
With Halloween coming up, it’s time to fix together a truly horrifying costume for the big day.
And according to Google Trends, it appears the streets will be filled with Delores from Beetlejuice, one of the emotions from Inside Out 2 – or perhaps channelling their inner popstar as Sabrina Carpenter.
But for one man, he’s already got his outfit sorted.
In fact, Marcelo “B-Boy” De Souza Ribeiro, 42, is dressed all year-round as his favourite character; Freddy Krueger, from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
And it’s caused some people to mistake him for the real deal.
“I started wearing a hat a few years ago [similar to Freddy’s] and then one day I found a top just like his,” the tattoo artist told What's The Jam.
“I really like the way he wears his clothes and from there, I became interested in [being more] like the character.
“Sometimes when the weather is cold I dress like him.
“And whenever people see me, they immediately want to take photos.
“Kids love it, they see me and always ask me to stop.
“I don’t think I scare anyone – people admire the style – and always come closer to see if I’m real, or a doll.”
Marcelo, from São Paulo, Brazil, is known for his 1,500 eccentric inkings and invasive body modifications.
Over the years, he’s spent an estimated £30,000 on his transformation and believes that 98% of his body has been altered.
While his controversial look gets mixed reactions, he says this, along with spending £200 on trying to emulate Freddy, has helped to truly bring the illusion to life.
And for Halloween this year, he’s been invited to a party and will go as his sinist
