The Government of Samoa will host a Royal 'ava ceremony for Their Majesties at the National University of Samoa as an official welcome to Samoa. The 'ava ceremony will be hosted by the Samoan Head of State and his village. This is a special ceremony reserved only for monarchs. The 'ava ceremony will be performed in the open, with Their Majesties and other dignitaries seated under marquees. Several hundred members of the village community will also be seated at the ceremony.
