King Charles III undertakes a Mangrove Restoration Walk, Samoa - 24 Oct 2024
His Majesty The King will visit the Moata'a Village Mangrove Restoration Walk and hear about the importance of community-led efforts to restore and protect marine ecosystems. This project highlights the benefits of coastal biomes such as mangroves in maintaining climate-resilient landscapes. His Majesty will engage with local community members involved in the mangrove project, and with representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment (MNRE). His Majesty will also meet representatives from two organisations - Pristine Seas and Dynamic Planet which, in the run-up to CHOGM, have helped to support the improved protection of marine environments across the Commonwealth, including aiding the establishment of a new Marine Protected Area in Samoa.
