" Dynasphere " wheels , it is hoped by their inventor , Dr JA Purves of Taunton , Somerset , will revolutionise modern transport . They were recently tested on Brean Sands near Weston - super - Mare . The 10 foot wheel revolves and the driver ' s seat remains at the bottom by its own weight . The wheels are said to be capable of 30 mph .

According to mediadrumworld.com some of the most impressive contraptions that were on offer included the world's first passenger carrying submarine from 13 July 1964 named, ‘The craft’, which could carry 42 passengers at a depth of 3000 ft. It was scheduled to start passenger carrying runs at the exhibition from 16 July 1964.
