A woman in Poulsbo, Washington, was forced to flee her home after coming under siege from 100 raccoons on 3 October 2024.
The woman told officials she had begun feeding a small family of raccoons decades ago, but what started as a harmless act of kindness escalated to a full on siege over time, as more of the creatures turned up and then continually demanded food, harassing her both day and night.
Footage from Kitsap County sheriff's office shows the large group of raccoons congregating around the trees outside the woman’s home.
She has apparently been quoted hundreds of dollars to remove just one raccoon, but deputies have referred her to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife to find a solution.
