Pic from Neil Rosewall/ Magnus News. Pic shows a tenacious honey badger seeing off two large hyenas in an amazing display of bravery. NOT LAUGHING NOW, MOMENT TWO HYENAS SENT PACKING BY BOISTEROUS HONEY BADGER By Magnus News Agency Hyenas are famous for their ‘laughter’ but this pair had to make a run for it after a honey badger failed to see the funny side of them getting too close. Being outnumbered and a fraction of the size of the two interlopers didn’t stop the smaller mighty mustelid launching a ferocious attack. Honey badgers, or ratels, are well-known for being highly aggressive when cornered, even standing their ground against lions and leopards. Faced with a duo of hyenas this black and white warrior looked to have drawn blood from one opponent and as these photos show the larger predators made a run for it. Neil Rosewall, 67, from Pretoria, South Africa, took these action-packed pictures in the country’s Kruger National Park. He said: “When I saw the honey badger it was rambling through the bush foraging for food, then the two hyenas started to approach it directly. “Watching from behind a camera I was thinking, ‘what is going to happen?’ it was very interesting. “As soon as the hyenas got close the honey badger immediately went on the attack, snapping and snarling at the hyenas. “Within seconds the hyenas had run off into the bush and when they had gone the honey badger just began foraging again like nothing had happened.” ENDS //MAGNUSNEWSAGENCY_magnus_badger_hyena_3/Credit:Magnus News/SIPA/2410081214
