These lions were pictured hanging around with some very big CATs as they took a snooze on some suitably named heavy machinery.
As these right-time-right-place photos show, the pride of predators decided the warmed metal of the CAT diggers and earth movers was a good place for catnap.
Wildlife photographer Bobby-Jo Vial snapped these remarkable images in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania, at the end of last month.
Luckily, as it was a Sunday, and the human drivers of the industrial vehicles were having a day off from maintaining the tourist roads around the remnants of the ancient volcano.
It meant these lionesses had the perfect perch to survey their kingdom and enjoy a real CAT nap under the African sky.
Australian Bobby-Jo Vial, who owners Bobby-Jo Safaris, was with a group of her guests when they stumbled on this amazing scene.
She said: âThe tourist roads must be maintained on a regular basis so large machinery is left in the crater to assist with the road maintenance.
âThe CAT vehicles were on the edges of the crater in an area called Jackal Hill. It was a Sunday, so no work was happening, and the lions used that to their advantage and decided to rest the entire day on top of the machinery.
âSo, we had big cats on big CATS. Imagine turning up to work on a Monday morning and finding a pride of lions on your work vehicles, just another day in the Africa.â
