Story from Jam Press (Whale Penis) Pictured: The whale penis. Beach cleaners left stunned after snake fossil turns out to be 4.9ft whale penis A group of beach cleaners were left shocked after finding a huge fossil. René Vilsholm was picking rubbish at her local beach with friends Morten Gebhardt and Kenneth Nielsen when they discovered the ancient item. The trio believed it to be the remains of a snake, as reported by What's The Jam. But after picking it up, they noticed just how heavy it felt. Through their own research and closer examinations, they have since found out that the sturdy object is actually a whale’s penis. The organ was discovered in Bornholm, Denmark, on 17 September. René, Morten and Kenneth believe it belonged to a young humpback that washed up on the same beach earlier this year (July 2024). The trio also shared images of the penis to Instagram. “A big weird creature washed up on land close to Snogebæk on Monday,” an extract of the post read. “It turned out, after some speculation, to be a penis belonging to the young humpback whale that earlier this year, washed up at Dueodde in south Bornholm.” In the first photo, Morten Gebhardt and Kenneth Nielsen can be seen holding the penis. In the second image, the lengthy penis can be seen laid flat on the ground. Humpback whales can grow up to 19 meters long, weigh up to 36 tons and live for 80 to 90 years. The trio took the penis to the NaturBornholm Natural History Centre, where there is planned to be further research. But for now, the limb is being kept in a freezer. ENDS EDITOR’S NOTE The social media post has been translated from Danish into English.
