Uninhabited Scottish island believed to have 'magical' properties and once visited by VIKINGS up for sale at £190,000
A “magical” island off the coast of Skye has gone up for sale for £190,000.
Fladda-Chuain is currently uninhabited and in “pristine, untouched and unspoilt condition” reports Luxury Property News.
The 69.99-acre island is the subject of fascinating folklore and legends.
It was once a sacred place believed to be a magical island where it is always summer and the sun never sets.
The island has even been visited by Vikings with an 11th-century gold ring discovered in 1851.
It is currently on display at the National Museum of Scotland.
Fladda-Chuain may not have any human residents but it has its own colony of animal visitors with seals and dolphins, porpoises, whales and basking sharks often seen in the area.
Ancient shipwrecks can also be explored nearby and it’s a great spot for sailing, scuba diving and fishing.
It is the largest island of the Fladda Island Chain, located just three miles northwest of the Trotternish peninsula on the Isle of Skye.
The principal city for the region is Inverness, which is 100 miles away.
The dramatic hills and mountains of Skye and the mountains of northern Scotland or the Outer Hebrides can all be seen from the island.
Fladda-Chuain has small valleys, peaks and cliffs. The highest point is 29 meters above sea level.
A buyer may be able to construct a small cabin on the island with permission.
You would also be able to access the island using your own vessel or you can hire a private boat to take you to and from the island.
The home is being sold with Goldcrest Land & Forestry Group.
