Ahmed al-Rajeh, a 13-year-old displaced Syrian boy, carries metallic pipes at the workshop that employs him near the town of Hazano in the northern part of the rebel-held northwestern Idlib province on March 14, 2024. Ahmed fled the southern part of the Aleppo province with his family to the city of Harem in the Idlib governorate.
He dropped out of school when he reached the fourth grade and now works with his father at a pipe fabrication shop near Hazano.
On March 15, 2024, Syria will mark 13 years since the government's brutal suppression of the 2011 uprising that triggered a civil war which has killed more than half a million people, drawn in foreign armies and jihadists, and divided the country. (Photo by Aaref WATAD / AFP)
