Golden lines of grain create mesmerising patterns while the paddy is turned. The paddy takes days to dry and needs turning at this rice mill in Habra, West Bengal, India. Assistant Sales Manager Dibakar Roy, 40, from Kolkata, India said, "India is an agriculture-based country. In the most rural parts of India agriculture is the main source of income. Paddy is the main grain grown. After cultivating the golden paddy, it needs to boil and dry to maintain moisture level and preserve." "This boil, dry and preservation process is done in several rice mills. After boiling workers dry it by laying it on the ground in a large area for three to four days. During this drying process, workers create these lines on the ground as they turn the golden paddy. It creates these beautiful moments of lines and patterns. Many people are involved in this job. To look down on the rice I stood on top of the rice mill chimney." "There are around a dozen rice mills in this area. Once dry the paddy will be processed for the next step of making rice from it and will be packed for delivery to the wholesalers locally and internationally." Please byline: Dibakar Roy/Solent News © Dibakar Roy/Solent News & Photo Agency UK +44 (0) 2380 458800 *** Local Caption *** I have taken these shots at Habra, West Bengal in India on last year January. Our India is an agriculture-based country. Most of the rural part of India agriculture is the main source of income. And here paddy is the main grain. After cultivating the golden paddy, it needs to boil and dry to maintain moisture level and preserve. This boil, dry and preservation process is done in several rice mills. After boiling workers dry it on a big ground for 3 to 4 days. And during this drying process workers create many lines and patterns on the ground by this golden paddy. Here are some of these beautiful moments of lines and patterns creations. I have clicked these shots at Habra, W.B. India. In Habra there are so many places where people are involved in this job. To capture these pattern story of the rice mill I need top angle shot, that's why I took these shots from the top of the rice mill chimney. After this process the dried paddy will be proceed to next step to make rice from it and will be packed for delivery to the wholesalers locally and internationally also. In this area there have so many rice mills around 10 to 12. In these shots the most interesting part are the lines and patterns of golden paddy made the workers during stretching and pulling. My name is Dibakar Roy, aged 40 years from Kolkata, India. I am an Assistant Manager Sales and Marketing in a Private Limited company.
