(NYT11) WASHINGTON -- May 15, 2007 -- OBIT-FALWELL-2 -- As President Bush prepared to sign the abortion bill called Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2003, his audience at the White House included, from left, with steepled fingers, Adrian Rogers, former head of the Southern Baptist Convention; Louis P. Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition; Jerry Falwell; Janet Parshall and Jay Sekulow, radio talk show hosts; Cardinal Edward M. Egan of New York; Attorney General John Ashcroft; and Senator George Allen, Nov. 5, 2003. Falwell, who founded the Moral Majority and built the religious right into a political force, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 shortly after being found unconscious in his office at Liberty University, a school executive said.
