Parents of high school athletes around the country have been clamoring to add certified athletic trainers to playing fields and practice sessions to address injuries like concussions. A handful of the schools have entered into novel, even unorthodox, arrangements with local hospitals, which provide trainers at a reduced cost in return for a school-based marketing campaign.
